Millions of Children in the world have been orphaned. The orphan crisis is a global issue, crossing racial and economic divides and impacting children from every walk of life.
Orphans
10,000 children become orphans every day. (UNICEF) Asia has the highest number of orphans with the greatest need in India with 31 million orphans. (UNICEF)
Forced Labor
There are 218 million forced child laborers with the majority of these being children who are orphaned or abandoned. (ILO)
Safety
Orphans and abandoned children are targeted by human traffickers, organ mafias and other malicious organizations. Millions of children are trafficked every year. (UNICEF)
Poverty
Children represent a third of the world’s population, but account for half of those living in extreme poverty. (UNICEF)
How do we tackle the orphan crisis?
We work by raising awareness for adoption and supporting those families willing to adopt with pre and post adoption resources and financial grants. We work in India, the country that has the most orphans in the world, building homes for abandoned children. We passionately fight for one less orphan.
